This Week's Project: A ceiling repair with a little flair
When an old house gives you lemons...
Long time readers might remember that in 2022 I updated our downstairs powder room:
Unfortunately, a few months ago our the ceiling developed a serious leak whenever we took a shower in the primary bathroom, which is directly above. Several consults from plumbers and grouters and folks definitely just trying to sell us a complete primary bath reno, followed. Eventually we were able to ascertain that the upstairs shower only needed regrouting, and so a lovely man came and listened to classical music upstairs for about five hours, regrouted the shower and ta-da! Problem solved (for way less than a full bath reno).
We’ve lived the last few months with a stain and hole in our powder room ceiling, but now are confident that the regrouting solved the problem and now comes the fun part: fix the cosmetic issue.
